Who We're Voting For

PRESIDENT/VICE PRESIDENT

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 7

As a congressional candidate, Marlando Pridgen is committed to being a voice for his community, striving to bring about legislative changes that will benefit NC Congressional District 7 and the nation as a whole. His vision is to create a more equitable and prosperous future for all citizens, guided by the principles of justice, fairness, and community collaboration.

As the daughter of parents who brought her to civil rights marches in a stroller, Kamala Harris was inspired to tackle injustice from an early age. She took that mission to county courtrooms, the California Attorney General’s office, the United States Senate, and the White House.

Governor Walz is a champion for America’s working families. He's served his country for 24 years in the Army National Guard and served his community as a high school teacher and football coach. Since becoming Governor, Tim Walz cut taxes for working families, lowered the cost of insulin and eliminated junk fees, and protected women’s right to choose.

Together, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are moving our country forward and fighting for working families.

NC GOVERNOR

NC ATTORNEY GENERAL

NC AUDITOR

NC COMMISSIONER OF AGRICULTURE

Dr. Taber’s roots in agriculture run deep. Born to a military family, she helped operate her family’s small holdings and took field, garment shop, and factory jobs to pay for school. At a young age, Sarah learned that romanticizing farms doesn’t put food on the table. Agriculture has to be a viable livelihood or it’s just not worth doing.

In the years since, Sarah has made a career of bringing new people into agriculture and helping farm businesses grow. Now, she's on a mission to help North Carolina put our countryside to work and grow our economy as our next Commissioner of Agriculture.

NC COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE

During her tenure in the North Carolina Senate, Natasha Marcus has stood for people over ideology, individual freedoms, and smart investments in the state's future. She is running to be the next Commissioner of Insurance to serve the people of North Carolina who need and deserve affordable, quality insurance by restoring transparency, advocacy, and accountability to the office. She will be the people’s advocate, ensuring that we have a vibrant, competitive marketplace of insurance options with fair rates, honest coverage, and smart regulation. In sharp contrast to her opponent, Natasha Marcus is free of any entanglements with the insurance companies she will be elected to regulate.

NC COMMISSIONER OF LABOR

Braxton Winston II served as an At-Large member and Mayor Pro Tem of Charlotte City Council until December 2023 with a goal of developing a city that is more equitable, accessible, and interconnected. He was first elected in 2017 and re-elected twice.

As North Carolina’s next Commissioner of Labor, Braxton will combine his experience in municipal leadership with his experience as a labor leader to build coalitions of our communities to keep North Carolina a place people want to come to live and work. We can connect the diversity of strengths in our rural and urban communities to work together for the common good of North Carolina's workforce and business communities.

NC SECRETARY OF STATE

NC SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION

Maurice “Mo” Green has strived to be a champion for public education in North Carolina throughout a professional career that has included being a school district superintendent, a chief executive for a large foundation that awards grants supporting public education and a school board attorney.

Mo is a champion for public education and knows the very soul of public education is on the line with this election.

NC TREASURER

Representative Wesley Harris is running for Treasurer because we deserve a leader in the Treasurer’s office who believes that our greatest resource is our people. As Treasurer, Wesley will make sound investments that keep North Carolina on strong financial ground. He’ll also work to increase our capacity to provide good healthcare and great retirements to state employees and smart infrastructure for all of us. With Wesley Harris at the helm, North Carolina can become a leader in the 21st century economy and remain the best state in the country to work and live.

NC SUPREME COURT ASSOCIATE JUSTICE SEAT 06

Since being appointed to the NC Supreme Court in 2023, her guiding principles are integrity, transparency, consistency and empathy. She believes that everyone in our courthouse should be treated with dignity and respect; and the way our courts work should be as transparent as possible to foster accountability. As the youngest woman to ever serve on our state supreme court, she brings an important and new perspective to the bench. As your voice on the court, she will work to ensure that the Supreme Court delivers justice to all North Carolinians without fear or favor.

NC COURT OF APPEALS JUDGE SEAT 12

Carolyn is a former District Court judge, Superior Court judge, and Deputy Commissioner for the Industrial Commission with over 25 years of combined legal and judicial experience. As a seasoned trial attorney and jurist, she understands the importance of upholding the Constitution and applying the law to the facts of each case. She believes she can make a difference in the service of equal justice as required by our laws and Constitution. True justice is independent of party affiliation, divisive ideologies, and social differences. She has taken and believes in the oath to consistently uphold our laws and Constitution.

NC COURT OF APPEALS JUDGE SEAT 14

Ed stands tall for justice! Ed has spent his legal career fighting for justice for the most vulnerable among us. He earned his impeccable reputation as an appellate lawyer through his relentless pursuit of justice. Now he is running for the opportunity to support the rights of all North Carolina citizens as a judge on the court of appeals.

NC COURT OF APPEALS JUDGE SEAT 15

Our judiciary is strongest when it includes a diverse set of experiences and backgrounds. When Martin began his career in public service, he gained experience in private practice, and continues to fight for our community as County Commissioner. We need judges who understand the people of North Carolina and are committed to equal justice for everyone in North Carolina.

NC STATE SENATE DISTRICT 08

Dr. Katherine Randall spent her formative years south of Wilmington in the South Carolina lowcountry. After getting her doctoral degree at Virginia Tech, Dr. Randall decided to bring her husband and daughter to Wilmington, where she currently works for a refugee resettlement agency and helps churches and other groups sponsor refugees in their communities. She believes every child should have access to high-quality and well-funded public education, with high-quality and well-paid teachers; reproductive choice should be protected and the government should be kept out of healthcare decisions; and, every person should have access to clean drinking water and corporations should be held accountable for polluting it.

NC HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 019

Jill Brown is committed to protecting equal rights for women and LGBTQ+ individuals, restoring reproductive freedom, and serving and elevating marginalized communities. She'll work to protect our public school system and return tax dollars to public schools where they belong. She'll also work to slow the rapid growth and development in our communities and make developers pay for infrastructure upgrades that are needed to support it, not the taxpayers.

NC LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

Attorney General Josh Stein has the experience and values to fight for what’s right, work to fix what’s wrong, and do right by every single North Carolinian. Always putting the people first, Josh has consistently taken on powerful special interests to protect families and won. He's running for NC Governor to help us build a better and brighter future. He has fought for the people of North Carolina for safer communities, stronger schools, healthier families, and personal freedom. And that’s what he’ll do as Governor.

Rachel was raised in North Carolina and is the proud daughter of the education Governor, Jim Hunt; and a public school teacher, Carolyn Hunt. She's running for Lieutenant Governor, because she loves this state, but hates what MAGA politicians in Raleigh are doing to try to move it backward. From their attempts to bankrupt our public schools and send our taxpayer dollars to unproven and unaccountable private schools, to their assault on reproductive freedom, the people of North Carolina deserve better and that's why she's running.

In the state Senate and in Congress, Jeff has built a reputation for being transparent, accessible, and candid. Jeff has helped lead the fight against gerrymandering, stood against discriminatory legislation like HB2, supported investments in early childhood education, repeatedly called for raising teacher pay and expanding Medicaid, passed reforms for our criminal justice system, and called out corruption when he saw it. His mission is to represent the people of North Carolina with honesty and decency.

Jessica has been serving as the State Auditor since December 2023. She's unbossed, unbought and most importantly for this role, she understands the value of a dollar and impact of government services on our everyday lives. We are already seeing tangible results under her leadership. Her primary responsibility is to follow the money—which isn’t red or blue. North Carolinians deserve a State Auditor who leads with integrity, transparency, and a focus on accountability— someone who is beholden to the people, not special interests, partisan extremism or bias.

In 1996, Secretary of State Elaine F. Marshall became the first woman ever elected to a statewide, executive branch office in North Carolina. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to strengthen North Carolina's economy, working with both the private and public sectors. For the last five years, North Carolina's GDP has grown at an annualized rate of 4.2%, putting it at number 12 overall compared to other states. She fights hard for the citizens of North Carolina and won't stop until we rank number 1!

Overdevelopment has resulted in widespread clearcutting, destruction of wetlands and wildlife habitats leading to erosion and flooding. As someone who believes in the power of honest and dedicated public service, Bob is taking action by running for Brunswick County Commissioner for District 3. The current group of County Commissioners continues down the path of uncontrolled development. Bob wants to work together to create a thriving community that benefits everyone. We want to preserve and enhance the beauty of Brunswick County, a place that we've all come to call home.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DISTRICT 03

BRUNSWICK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DISTRICT 04

Brunswick County is a wonderful place to call home. And it is one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina. However, over development has brought unintended consequences resulting in clear cutting of our forest land and a severe burden on our county infrastructure. The lack of concern by the current county commissioners was the driving force behind his decision to run for public office. Tom has the leadership skills to find answers for today's concerns and the vision to develop solutions for tomorrow's challenges.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DISTRICT 05

Brunswick County is such a beautiful place full of so many amazing people. But when you stop and listen two things consistently come to the surface again and again: People are concerned and afraid about development not being appropriately managed, and that the beauty that they grew up with or moved here for is being stripped away. People have a consistent feeling that their leaders are not hearing them. That their voices are ignored and their votes don’t matter, so why bother? You matter. It’s time for your leadership to hear you and work on your behalf.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT 04

Over the past few years, Janis has had discussions with community leaders, parents, students, school personnel (active and retired) and she came to the conclusion that their concerns were not being addressed by the current Brunswick County School Board. With her thirty-three years of experience, mainly in Brunswick County, she made a decision to run for the school board to bring the perspective of a career educator to the Board of Education decision making.
